At night our perception is limited, at the same time our senses are sharpened. Through its proximity to sleep and dreams, the night is associated with the emotional world and the unconscious since the Romantic era. A time for transformation, of uncertain, open-ended participatory journey through the night.
As part of the Festival der jungen Talente 2022, we set off in a group of 11 artists on a cinematic night hike. From various starting points, we finally met with the help of live locations in Kelsterbach and screened the film in chronological order onto a self-made tarpaulin. In this way, the cuts in our cameras became the cuts in the film. The unchanged edited version of the video was exhibited at the Frankfurter Kunstverein. The video installation was exhibited at both art academies during the simultaneous tours of the HfG Offenbach and the Kunsthochschule Mainz in July 2022.
